Rumor Rat always admits when things are a little beyond our scope of reason and logic.
Such is the case with the latest article by Cassandra Yorgey at examiner.com.
But the bottom line seems to be that James Ray aimed for complete mind control over the 55 or so people inside the sweat lodge on October 8th. What’s more, he succeeded.
Perhaps you’ve read that one piece of required reading for his Spiritual Warriors was “The Holotropic Mind” by the author Dr. Stanislav Grof.
In her piece (which you can read here), Yorgey points out several aspects of the sweat lodge that Grof himself said should not have been used in association with his own philosophies and research.
For example…
one of the first things that Dr. Grof made clear to Yorgey was that he would never recommend using Holotropic breath work in combination with a sweat lodge… which James Ray did.
Not only is James Ray not certified in the use of Dr. Grof’s techniques. It seems Grof had never even heard of Ray prior to this disaster.
