Take a good look at the above graphic and text.
It’s from a mass-mailed missive that was sent from James Arthur Ray’s e-mail account.
The source that sent it to Rumor Rat says it was part of an e-mail that was sent on October 25 – last Sunday.
However, someone we assume to be a supporter of Ray’s informs us anonymously that it was the New Age guru’s “Thought of Power” for the day on March 13th, 2008, and had been recirculated by Ray’s critics since the sweat lodge disaster.
Whatever the case, Rumor Rat finds it ironic – or is it coincidental? – that in his “thought” Ray says that a Warrior never explains. Could this perhaps be the philosophy behind his decision not to speak with authorities?
“On some level, it’s possible that this man thinks he’s above having to explain his actions to anyone,” says one critic, who asked not to be identified.
Meanwhile, the Facebook page where on October 20th Ray posted his non-apology, non-explanation of the sweat lodge tragedy, the comments are piling up.
To date, no fewer than 2,296 comments have been made, including comments by at least one survivor of the fatal sweat lodge. Some are sympathetic to Ray’s situation, others not so much.
Meanwhile, Ray seems to be trimming his schedule of free informational meetings he had previously planned.
As recently as Sunday, his website included at least a half dozen different free seminars in various cities, including Toronto, San Francisco and San Jose.
Tonight, however, the only remaining free event is this evening’s seminar in Toronto.
We can only assume that Ray’s had a change of heart and cleared his schedule – at least of the free events.
His online schedule, however, still includes money makers like next year’s Spiritual Warrior retreat in Sedona.
It also includes next month’s three-day Quantum Leap seminar in Las Vegas. It’s “only” $3,995 per person, in case you’re interested in attending.

I get the James Arthur Ray’s “Thought of Power” daily emails too. That email quote did indeed get sent this past Sunday! It may have been a quote that has been used before by JAR but I HAVE the hard copy email to prove it. Apparently, he thinks if he gets his devout followers to say it wasn’t sent out this past Sunday it will do some much needed damage control. The quotes makes him look pompus and arrogant that he is a warrior and it’s above him to explain anything to anyone even to authorities, since he is apparently not on the same level as everyone else. I am sure that JAR International will never confirm this email was sent out either. However, it’s a free email thousands of people received it so there are thousands emails out there to support the fact that it was absolutely sent on Sunday. Fess up JAR International you know you sent it …stop lying that you didn’t!!!!!!
Hi Rumor Rat
Thanks for this article. I was a HUGE fan and an ardent student of all things James Arthur Ray spoke of and taught in his seminars. To say that I am disappointed in his recent behavior – would be the UNDER statement of the century…
I agree with the unidentified person who said “On some level, it’s possible that this man thinks he’s above having to explain his actions to anyone,” I can completely imagine him believing he is without any culpability whatsoever. He strongly believes that whatever experiences one attracts into their lives, good or bad, is a reflection of their inner most desires and therefore – their own responsibility to learn and grow from, in this life.
What he – the Master (his own reference, not mine) – should realize is that while we, the “UN-evolved, UN-informed and UN-enlightened” don’t understand all he seems to know (???) – he is still required to abide by our laws – be they civil, moral, or criminal. This whole “silent treatment” is beyond my comprehension, that is for sure. In my opinion, if he was really so enlightened, he would know EXACTLY how to handle this and avoid every bit of backlash. The fact that he evidently feels $5000 is enough to soothe a mourning mother or satisfy a sorrowful sister, or calm a bereaved brother, is evidence of a cold cold heart. What kind of Mickey Mouse Math is that, I wondered to myself. (sorry Mickey, nothing personal)
I could go on and on, Rumor Rat, but that’s enough. For now.
