James Ray Sweat Lodge Lawsuits Filed – Angel Valley Owner Critical of Ray

SweatLodgeAerial2It’s getting ugly in that supernatural center of the universe known as Sedona, Arizona.

On Friday, two lawsuits were filed against James Arthur Ray… one by the family of sweat lodge victim Liz Neuman, and the other by Sidney Spencer, a woman who survived the sweat lodge but was seriously injured.

Ray is accused of negligence, fraud and other actions along with the owners of the Angel Valley Retreat Center, where his event was held.

And that’s where it gets interesting.

Amayra Hamilton, who owns Angel Valley with her husband is talking publicly for the first time since the event, and what she’s saying is not going to sit well with Ray’s attorneys, or his mouthpiece, “Master of Disaster” publicist Mark Fabiani.

Ms. Hamilton told The Associated Press she was “shocked” – shocked! - to learn the 50-plus participants in Ray’s five-day program had gone two days without water during their solitary “Vision Quests” in the hills around the center.

“The condition that the people were in before they were in the sweat lodge was not good,” Hamilton said.

Ray’s been conducting the Spiritual Warrior retreat at Angel Valley since 2005

“All those years I thought they had water with them, and I didn’t know they didn’t,” said Hamilton.

Both lawsuits were filed in Flagstaff.
