Two high-profile Mormon families are about to face off in court.
Suits and countersuits have been flying back & forth for about a month between Marie Osmond and her former manager of three and a-half decades, Karl Engemann.
Complicating matters is the fact that Marie is (or at least was) BFF with Karl’s daughter, Shawn King, who’s married to CNN’s Larry King.
The problems apparently started with the last-minute cancellation of a TV talk show Marie was to host, which would have originated in Las Vegas.
Marie promtly fired Karl, who screamed breach-of-contract just before slapping Osmond with a bill for $88,000.
On Friday, Marie’s pit-bull attorney Marty Singer filed a counterclaim against Karl, essentially calling the 79-year-old the most incompetent manager in all of Hollywood.
No word on whether Marie and Shawn are still giving each other manis & pedis and ratting each other’s hair while they talk about boys.
