News that Simon Cowell will leave American Idol at the end of its 2010 cycle is blowing across the blogosphere this evening… but the real story is what will likely happen in Simon’s Idol-free future.
For one, there are plans afoot for Cowell to bring his show “X Factor” from across the pond to American television.
And the rumors are already starting that Simon will court Paula Abdul to join him at the judges’ table on the new show.
True, the two never seemed to get along on camera, but it’s also a fact that the chemistry between the two has always been a major draw for AI viewers.

This is good news. Idol without Paula was gonna be aweful anyway. I guess he knows that. Good for Simon and Paula.
