Is Kirstie Alley Secretly Converting Fat People to Scientology?

March 13, 2010 at 5:02 pm

This is one of those complicated stories that’s best left to the investigative journalism guys.

But since it involves bigger-than-life actress Kirstie Alley, The Rat has decided to take a shot at boiling it down to a few decipherable sentences.

Here goes.

In her new cable reality show, “Kirstie Alley’s Big Life,” Alley introduces us to a “revolutionary” new weight loss program which she has designed and is using to drop a hundred or so pounds to get down to her fighting weight of 140.

However, an anti-Scientology group that simply calls itself “Anonymous” claims the supplements and organic diet being peddled to people desperate to take off the pounds is basically a business that’s run by – and rakes in profits for – the controversial church of the stars.

Anonymous has made several connections between the diet and the-powers-that-be at the church’s headquarters.  For details, check out the piece at gawker.com.

Basically, Anonymous says the diet is based on the teachings of Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard, and that the business end of Kirstie’s so-called “Organic Liaison” program is being pupeteered by Scientology’s Florida-based bean counters.

So if you subscribe to the diet – and it isn’t cheap, by the way – and suddenly start believing that humans were brought to earth by aliens from other worlds, don’t say The Rat didn’t warn you.
